Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. We ordered Chicken Nanban, Chicken Katsu, Menchi Katsu, and Tenshindon. The set came with rice, soup, and melon. We also ordered the promo package with Karage, Kawa, and Momo. Their chicken karage was so juicy and tender. One of the staff members accidentally dropped one of them, and they immediately prepared another set. Good job on the service. We also tried the highball promo and their highball was really smooth! I would recommend the chicken nanban and the salty momo."
"Great foods! The hikiniku was tasty! The patty was juicy and well seasoned, so was the Tsukune. The food's price was reasonable. We were there around 6 pm. The food took a while to prepare since they prepared them from scratch. My suggestion is to start the preparation way early before the opening hour. We'd like to come back to try other things on the menu!"
"An incredible dining experience! Items of exceptionally high quality Besides offering suggestions, the chef-owner is not afraid to tell us the truth (the menu is only available when the quality is there). Here are some suggestions: - The Chicken Nanban Set , which combines a powerful sauce with juicy chicken and is absolutely mind-blowing. - If available, try all of the yakitori. Definitely will be back when visiting bandung"
"I had an overall enjoyable experience. The food was tasty and reflected authentic Japanese flavors. However the kawa were noticeably small in portion, and the potato salad leaned a bit too salty for my taste. Despite these minor issues, the ambience truly stood out — a stylish and modern take on the traditional izakaya vibe, making it a pleasant spot to relax and enjoy a meal. If you're looking for a place with a good atmosphere and solid Japanese dishes, Homu Kanpai is worth checking out ."
"This is my third time visiting. You must try Chicken Nanban, make it set, because the miso soup is smoothly fine. Share Karaage with ur friends, and pick 1 or 2 Kushiyaki. Various drinks and mochi daifuku are good finishing. I can tell they’re very serious about getting the right taste. I have indeed come back for their Karaage. Oh they have seasonal menus as well."
"Homu Kanpai is a small place that packs a punch! they serve up delicious Japanese comfort food like chicken katsu, nanban and yakitori, and I love that you can watch them cook it all in their open kitchen. it's the best place to grab a beer with friends after work since they open at 5 PM."
"good food, good vibes. my go to dinner spot if i have friends from out of town. also a great hangout spot for beers and yakitori. the meal set is great, you’ll get a bowl of rice, miso soup, and a sweet melon slices with your choice of protein. just tried their gindara paired with daikon and miso last time i was there, man what a meal. don’t forget to get their custard pudding before you ask for your bills."
"Homu Bento and Onigiri Goma Dare hit the spot with perfectly textured, fluffy rice that’s just right. Even though the portions feel a bit small for the slightly premium price tag, the authentic savory kick from the goma dare makes it worth the try. The vibe is a total winner—super unique Japanese aesthetics with a cozy, intimate feel since there aren't many seats. It’s a solid pick for anyone craving a chill spot with quality flavors that feel like a hidden find."
